Privacy Policy

BarkArt.co is operated by Lukas Labs LLC, an Arizona limited liability company doing business as BarkArtCo ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use BarkArt.co, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, Facebook or Microsoft, your name and account identifier from that provider. We never receive your password for those services.
Photos you upload: the pet photos you submit so we can create your artwork.
Artwork and choices: the art style and options you pick, any notes you type, and the AI artwork we generate for you.
Order information: the product and size you buy, amounts paid, tax and shipping charged, your name, shipping address, email and phone number (if you give one at checkout), and order status.
Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
Technical data: IP address, browser type and server logs, used for security, fraud prevention and troubleshooting.

How We Use Your Information

To create your account and sign you in
To generate AI artwork from your photo
To take payment, print your order and ship it to you
To send emails about your account and orders, such as sign-in links, "your art is ready" notices, order confirmations and shipping updates
To send you BarkArt.co marketing emails, such as reminders about portraits you made, new products and offers. You can unsubscribe with the link in any of these emails.
To understand how customers use BarkArt.co so we can improve our products, website and marketing
To provide customer support, handle replacements and refunds, and prevent fraud
To keep business, tax and accounting records required by law

Your information is used only by BarkArt.co, for running and marketing our own business. We never sell, rent or trade it, and we don't share it with other companies for their marketing (the only advertising-related sharing is the ad measurement described under Cookies, which you can turn off).

We do not use your pet photos or artwork in advertising or marketing without your permission. We do not use them to train AI models.

Featuring your pet (only what you allow). We ask what we may show on our Facebook, Instagram and TikTok pages, and you choose each part separately: (1) the artwork you make with us (portraits and coloring pages, with our small BarkArt watermark), (2) your pet's name, and (3) the original photo you uploaded, shown next to the portrait as a before & after. We only use the parts you allowed: without the name, we don't post artwork that shows it (such as coloring pages, which have your pet's name in their titles). We never post your name, email or where you live. You can change your choices anytime in My account; when you turn something off, we stop using it in new posts and remove it from posts that haven't gone out yet.

Share links. When you use a Share button, we make a public link to that one picture (with our small watermark) so the people you share it with can see it. Anyone who has the link can open it.

Who We Share It With

We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run BarkArt.co, and only for that purpose:

Stripe for payment processing and sales tax calculation (Stripe privacy policy)
Printful for printing and shipping. Printful receives your chosen artwork, your name, shipping address, email and phone number (Printful privacy policy)
Shipping carriers (such as USPS, UPS and FedEx), which receive your name and address from Printful to deliver your order
OpenAI, which receives your uploaded photo to create your artwork. We also use AI tools to help us read and draft replies to support emails and look up orders, so the contents of a support request and the related order details may be processed this way. A person reviews replies, refunds and discounts before they are sent.
Stability AI, which receives the artwork you order so it can be enlarged for printing
Microsoft Azure, which stores photos, artwork and print files
Google, Facebook and Microsoft, only if you choose to sign in with them
Google (Gmail), which sends our account, order and marketing emails
Lukas Labs, which runs the chat assistant on our site (when you are signed in, it also gets a short summary of your orders, tracking, coloring books and portraits, so it can answer questions about them; no payment details or addresses) and keeps our customer contact list (your email, name if you gave it, what you ordered or signed up for, and your email preferences)
Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta Pixel described under Cookies, unless you turn it off
Google (Google Analytics), which measures how our site is used, as described under Cookies, unless you turn it off

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business.

We do not sell your personal information. The Meta Pixel below may count as "sharing" for advertising under some state laws; you can opt out on our Your Privacy Choices page, and we honor the Global Privacy Control signal automatically.

Cookies

Cookies that make the site work:

a session cookie that keeps you signed in
a cookie that remembers a promo code from a link you opened, so it's filled in at checkout (30 days)
a cookie that remembers the last product page you looked at, so that product is picked for you when you order (30 days)
cookies that remember your privacy choice, if you make one, including your answer to the consent banner (1 year)

Ad measurement (Meta Pixel). We use the Meta Pixel to learn which of our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people to BarkArt.co and to show our ads to people who may be interested. It sets Meta cookies and tells Meta which of our pages you visit and when you sign up, start checkout or order (with the order amount). When you are signed in, it and our server also send Meta a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address and of your account number, so Meta can tell whether one of our ads led to your sign-up or order; Meta receives the hashed values, not your email itself. It never sends your name, address or photos. For visitors in California we use Meta's Limited Data Use setting. To turn it off, use Your Privacy Choices or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. See Meta's privacy policy.

Site analytics (Google Analytics). We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use BarkArt.co: which pages are visited, how people arrive (for example from an ad or a search) and their general location (country or city). It sets Google cookies and receives details such as your browser, device and the pages you view; Google uses your IP address only to estimate your general location. It never receives your name, email, address or photos. We have turned off Google's advertising features for it (Google signals and ad personalization), so we use it only to improve our site. It is off when you turn off measurement on Your Privacy Choices or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. See Google's privacy policy.

How Long We Keep Your Information

Photos and artwork stay in your account while it is open, so you can view and reorder them. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
Print files for orders are kept for up to 1 year after your order so we can handle reprints and replacements.
Order, payment and tax records are kept for 7 years, as required for tax and accounting.
Server logs are kept for up to 12 months.

If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account, photos and artwork within 30 days. We keep only the order records we are legally required to keep.

Your Rights and Choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy
correct information that is wrong
delete your account, photos and artwork

To make a request, email support@barkart.co from the address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity first. We reply within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for using these rights.

California and other US states: residents of states with consumer privacy laws have the rights above. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.

Canada: we handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). You can ask to access or correct your information, or withdraw consent, using the contact details below.

Visitors outside the United States: BarkArt.co is operated from the United States and currently ships only to the US and Canada. Your information is processed and stored in the United States.

Security

We protect your information with encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls and private storage for uploaded photos. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you as required by law if a breach affects you.

Children's Privacy

BarkArt.co is not directed to children under 13, and purchases require you to be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above. If a change is significant, we will also notify account holders by email.
