Creator Terms
1. The program
You design products in Creator Studio and share links to barkart.co. BarkArt sells the products, takes payment, has them printed and shipped by our print partner, and handles customer service. BarkArt is the seller of every product. You are an independent creator, not our employee or agent.
2. Joining and leaving
- We review applications by hand and may approve or decline any application.
- You can leave at any time. We may pause or end your account for a breach of these terms, fraud or abuse, with notice by email.
- When you leave, your designs come off sale. Orders already placed are still printed and you're still paid for them, unless the account ended for fraud.
3. What you earn
- 70% of the profit on products you designed in Creator Studio.
- 50% of the profit on other products bought by a customer who came through your personal link.
- "Profit" is the price the customer paid (after any discount) minus printing, shipping and the sales tax our print partner charges, card processing fees, and any AI artwork made for that order. Your portal shows each sale's numbers.
- If you set a price above our base price, the extra is included in that sale's profit.
- A sale counts for you when the customer came through your link (your page, a product link or your personal URL) and orders on barkart.co within 30 days on the same browser. We remember the visit with a cookie; if the customer clears cookies or buys on another device, we can't see the visit. If a customer came through more than one creator's link, the most recent one counts. Each order counts for one creator at most.
- No earnings on your own purchases, on samples, on orders we cancel, or on orders refunded or charged back. If an order is refunded after you were paid, we take that amount off your next payout.
4. Getting paid
- A sale becomes payable 14 days after delivery. You can cash out any time after that by PayPal (or to your bank through Stripe when available) once your balance is $25 or more, and PayPal’s payout fee (currently 2%, up to $1) is deducted from the cash-out; anyone who doesn’t cash out may be paid in a monthly run; smaller balances roll over.
- We need a completed W-9 once your payouts for a calendar year get close to the IRS reporting limit ($2,000 for 2026 and later), through the secure form in your creator portal. Your tax ID is encrypted when you submit it and kept in a separate vault; we can’t read it back, and use it only to file your 1099. If we pay you $2,000 or more in a calendar year (the IRS limit for 2026 and later), we send you (or your parent or guardian) a 1099. You're responsible for your own taxes.
- Held payments. Your earnings stay yours. Until a W-9 is on file we simply can’t send a payout that would take your year to the reporting level, and we’ll remind you by email and in your portal. If it stays missing, we may, where the law allows or requires, withhold tax at the IRS backup-withholding rate (currently 24%) from payments and send it to the IRS for you, paying you the rest. Balances that stay unclaimed for a long time may have to be reported and turned over to your state as unclaimed property under state law, and we’ll contact you before that happens.
- Payouts go only to the account you set in your portal. We'll email you when it changes.
5. Your designs
- You approve every design before it goes on sale, including its look, its product, sizes, colors and price.
- You keep ownership of your photos, your pet's likeness and your ideas. You give BarkArt a non-exclusive license to make, show, advertise and sell the designs you approve while they're on sale, and to keep printing orders already placed.
- You promise that you took the photos you upload or have permission to use them, and that your designs don't use other people's trademarks, logos, characters, artwork, famous people or private people without their permission.
- No hateful, violent, adult, misleading or illegal content. Designs must also meet our print partner's content rules.
- The Creator Studio guidelines are part of these terms. You accept them before your first design.
- We may remove any design that breaks these rules or that someone reports with a good reason. We'll tell you why.
6. Refunds and replacements
Because you approve every design, customers can't return a creator product because they changed their mind. We replace or refund products that arrive damaged or with a print defect when the customer sends photos within 14 days of delivery. Those replacements and refunds don't reduce your earnings unless the problem was caused by the design itself (for example, a blurry photo you approved).
7. Promoting BarkArt
- You earn from sales, so whenever you post about BarkArt or share your link, you must say so clearly, for example "#ad" or "I earn from purchases" (U.S. Federal Trade Commission rules). The same goes for free or discounted samples.
- Don't make claims we can't back up (like "this money goes to charity"), don't spam, don't buy ads on the word "BarkArt", and don't pretend to be BarkArt.
- You may use the product pictures and captions from your portal. You may use BarkArt's name and logo only to say you sell through BarkArt.
8. Your information and customers' information
We use your account details, profile and payout information to run the program, and we show your creator name, picture and links on your BarkArt page. We never share customers' names, emails or addresses with you; your portal shows sales and earnings only. See our privacy policy.
9. Changes
We may change these terms or the earning rates. We'll email you at least 14 days before a change takes effect, and changes never apply to orders placed before that date. If you don't agree, you can leave the program.
10. The legal part
BarkArt provides the program as-is and isn't liable for lost profits or indirect damages; our total liability to you is limited to the earnings we owe you. You're responsible for claims caused by content you upload. These terms are governed by Arizona law. Questions: reply to any of our emails.
